Cookie notice
In short: Our websites set no cookies and run no tracking. There is nothing to accept and nothing to turn off.
What this covers
In short: wamemba.me, insight.wamemba.me, and the Wamemba me app.
This notice covers our websites, wamemba.me and insight.wamemba.me, and what the Wamemba me app stores on your phone. The law calls all of these "cookies and similar technologies": small files a website or app saves on your device, or reads from it.
Our websites
In short: No cookies, no analytics, no ad pixels, no fonts or scripts from other companies.
- We set no cookies.
- We run no analytics and no advertising or social media pixels.
- Our fonts and images come from our own server, so loading a page doesn't tell another company you visited.
- When you join the waitlist, your browser sends your email address straight to our database (Supabase, in London). That doesn't set a cookie either.
Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, for a short time. These are not cookies. The privacy policy explains them.
Because we set no cookies that need your consent, we don't show a cookie banner. If that ever changes, we will update this notice and ask you first.
The app
In short: The app keeps what it needs on your phone to work. Analytics wait for your yes where the law asks.
The app saves these on your phone:
| What | Why | Do we need your consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Your sign-in, in your phone's secure keychain | To keep you signed in to your own account | No: the app can't work without it |
| Your sayings and children, and a list of changes waiting to sync | So you can save a saying with no signal, and never lose one | No: this is the service you asked for |
| A note of which account this phone uses (never a password) | So the app never makes a second account by mistake | No: needed for the service |
| Your analytics choice | To remember your yes or no | No: it records your choice |
| An analytics identifier (PostHog) | To count how the app is used, without your words | Yes, in the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. Elsewhere, on unless you turn it off |
| Crash report files (Sentry), kept until they are sent | To find and fix faults | We treat these as needed to keep the app working safely. Reports never contain your words |
Coming: the app will ask for your analytics choice during setup, and you will be able to change it in Settings. Until then, phones in the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland send no analytics at all.
Changes
In short: If we ever add a cookie, we'll ask first and show you what changed.
